Research

The development of catalysts and catalytic systems are indispensable to solve the problems in environment, resources, and energy. The design of the catalysts at the molecular level and the clarification of the reaction mechanism are the key. We investigate the precise design, synthesis, and analysis of the metal oxide clusters and supported metal nanoclusters as inorganic catalysts based on inorganic synthetic chemistry, physical chemistry, and organic chemistry. These studies lead to the development of new environmentally benign chemical processes, new reactions, and the vast frontiers of the fundamental catalytic science and technology.
