In nature, there is a sophisticated mechanism in which different types of atoms and molecules are assembled by themselves while interacting with the surrounding environment in a complicated manner, producing overwhelming functions. Based on inorganic material chemistry, device chemistry, and organic chemistry, we aims to ① develop “Nanoscale Material Chemistry”, which allows us to spatially design inorganic and organic materials in a space at the “interface”, ② integrate those new material properties (such as molecular recognition functions) with integrated electronics devices and information science, challenging the development of new research fields and industries for the chemistry of complex systems.
