One-step synthesis of meta-substituted benzene using atmospheric oxygen as an oxidant—Gold nanoparticles break through conventional selectivity and pioneer a new, environmentally friendly synthesis method—: published in J. Am. Chem. Soc.

y using a cerium-oxide-supported gold nanoparticle catalyst, we have achieved a highly difficult reaction that breaks through conventional selectivity and produces meta-phenylenediamines from cyclohexenones and secondary amines.
